Finally - top coat and lacquer! Gone are the patches of filler and undercoat. Now our train has a gleaming coat of LU Red.

Nice and vivid - the whole train has undergone the same treatment, having received many base coats, filler, more base coats, and now what you see above; a lacquered top coat.

Above you can see the unit before receiving its coat of lacquer - look at how flat and smooth the paint is! It took a lot of work to get it like this... Still, more to be done.

So then, not much more is left to do on the exterior! Just remove the tape and paper, tidy any imperfections and apply some decals! Exciting... Stay tuned next week for more updates.
