London Underground and London Bus District Line (Misha Black) District Line Moquette Washbag
It’s nothing short of an icon. The classic moquette, known as Misha Black (after the man who commissioned it for London Transport) is also widely known as ‘District’, the line upon which it made its debut. The hugely talented Jacqueline Groag created this pattern for the ‘D78’ subsurface underground trains but the moquette found its way onto the capital’s bus fleet of the time AND the Jubilee line’s original 1983 tube stock. And if you thought it was only a fixture of London, think again. It was used to spruce up the Isle of Wight’s ‘Standard Stock’ trains until they were finally retired in 1991. District even conquered buses across England. Whether it was part of your journey to school or work, it’s a moquette masterpiece with enduring appeal and will add a vibrant pop of vivid colour to your home.
There’s no escaping moquette in some houses - there’s even some in the bathroom. Our washbags are unbelievably stylish and give bath time an air of nostalgia. Measuring 20cm x 10cm x 10cm and available in a range of popular moquettes, they are great for your essentials at home or while on a getaway railway trip. Waterproof inner and a robust zip make them long-lasting too.

Moquette is super-duper tough. If it gets a bit dirty, a good firm brush should do the job... For something really stubborn try some carpet cleaner. If in doubt - drop us a line.
