How’s this for a quirky moquette? Peer into a train driver’s cab of yesteryear and you might just spot this. Smokey was the moquette of choice for train drivers’ seats and was introduced in the 1970s. Because of its location, where other moquettes in passenger areas may well have been refreshed or replaced, drivers were treated to fewer upgrades, so you may still spot this design on preserved railways. Smokey remains a perfect gift for former or retiring drivers, who will have fond memories of this design.
